Token Lab.
Figma plugin, npm CLI, and a drift dashboard that catches the moment design and code disagree.
Plugin free. CLI free. Dashboard paid.
Most design-token systems pretend to be in sync. They are not. A designer changes a color in Figma. The token JSON in the repo doesn't update. The CSS variable in the component library still points to last quarter's hex. Nobody notices until the QA team files a bug.
Token Lab catches the drift, in three places:
- Figma plugin
- Live status in the side panel: which tokens in this file match the codebase, which don't, and which were changed by whom.
- npm CLI
- Run in CI on every PR. Fails the build if tokens drift without an approved change.
- Drift dashboard
- Hosted view of every token across every brand, every theme, every codebase. Time-series. Diffable. Shareable links.
Built after replacing Storybook in-house at a global EdTech platform supporting three brands — and realizing the token layer was the actual bottleneck, not the component one. Storybook tells you which components exist. Token Lab tells you which ones agree with their tokens.
